Mimar Sinan vs Michelangelo

Mimar Sinan vs Michelangelo Video Clips. Duration : 0.85 Mins.

Sinan the Great Ottoman Architect and Engineer (1489-1588): With the skills learnt at an early age, he quickly developed his career of architect from his military service at the Janissary Corps (Turkish Military). He built hundreds of buildings including mosques, palaces, chapels, tombs, schools, almshouses, madrassahs, fountains, aqueducts, bridges and hospitals. His travels with the army through a vast geographical region extending from Anatolia to Italy, Central Europe, Baghdad enriched his architectural knowledge. The synthesis of this knowledge was reflected in his famous constructions as seen in his chief work the Suleymaniyye Mosque (1550-1557). His theories have been approved by the modern seismology and Sinan is considered as one of the first engineers in the world who built buildings that can combat a quake with architectural changes. Sinan's Architectural Contribution (Environmental Design): 1. The use of Ostrich egg... These eggs secrete chemical substances into the atmosphere, which repel spiders and mosquitoes away. 2. Air Purification System... The Oil lamps and candle used to lighten, generate smoke and burn oxygen ...
